Is Schaeffer Oil Synthetic?
Schaeffer oils can be fully synthetic, para-synthetic, or conventional mineral oil. Let’s take a look below at their different oils. There are quite a few different formulations to choose from because it’s not a one-size-fits-all.
Gasoline Engines
Schaeffer’s has a full lineup of gasoline engine oils. They have full synthetic 5W-30, 5W-20, 0W-20, and a racing 5W-50. Their newest addition is the 0W-40 for the Chrysler high-performance engines. There are also two European engine full synthetic 5W-30 choices.
Schaeffer’s also has para-synthetic gasoline engine oils. Para-synthetic means a blend of synthetic and conventional. This group has SAE 30, SAE 40, 5W-30, and 10W-30.
Diesel Engines
For diesel engines, there are many options.
Schaeffer’s best seller is the Synshield Durability Advantage 15W-40. It is a para-synthetic oil. There is also the ECO 5000 re-refined 15W-40, which is another para-synthetic choice.
The para-synthetic diesel oils are also available in SAE 30, SAE 40, 10W-30, and yes, even 5W-30!
The full synthetic diesel line offers 5W-40 and 10W-30. This oil was previously called Supreme 9000 but has been renamed Synshield OTR Full Synthetic. There is also a full synthetic for heavy-duty European engines in a 5W-30 weight.
Racing Oils
Schaeffer’s has been continuously adding to their racing oil lineup.
The conventional racing oils are highly recommended for methanol/alcohol fuel racing engines, gasoline engines, and as well as for some older Harley Davidson’s. This is the Micron Moly lineup. It is available in SAE 30, 40, and 50. It is also available in a 20W-50. This group can be a good choice for vintage/collector vehicles because of the extra ZDDP.
Supreme 7000 racing oils are para-synthetic. You can choose from 10W-30, 15W-40, and 20W-50 weights.
The full synthetic Supreme 9000 racing oil is a 5W-50.
Two-Cycle Engine Oils
There are two options from Schaeffer’s for this. They have a para-synthetic and a full synthetic. These two oils have been top-rated in the snowmobile racing community.
Alternative Fuels (CNG, LNG, LPG)
These Schaeffer oils are also para-synthetic and available in 15W-40, SAE 30, or SAE 40.
European Engine Oils
This group is fully synthetic and designed both for cars and trucks with or without DPF. The three choices are all in the 5W-30 weights.
V-Twin Engine Oils
Schaeffer’s has a top-rated racing oil designed especially for the V-Twin Harley Davidson owner. It is a para-synthetic 20W-50. Some HD shop owners choose this oil over the HD brand!
You may be confused by all these different choices. The best answer for you is dependent on your own personal situation. stores.buy1oils.com sells all of these oils. You can read more about each of these oils, and they can help you make the right choice.
