Putting Schaeffer Grease To Use
Schaeffer grease is being used in industries around the world, from private settings to governmental initiatives. What started as a small business back in the 1800s has expanded to welcome clients worldwide.
Putting Schaeffer Grease to Use
Schaeffer has designed quality greases to fit numerous applications. Some of them include heavy equipment, industrial, agriculture, manufacturing, trucking, mining, drilling, food and feed manufacturing, marine, and so on. Schaeffer’s newest grease is the SynForce® Strike Chisel Paste.
The Benefits of Using High-Quality Grease
Most premium greases are designed to reduce friction within a specific mechanical element, particularly one that needs to withstand high pressure and a range of harsh environmental conditions. This can be done primarily by adding moly (aka molybdenum). Moly has a natural affinity to metal surfaces. The moly will plate to metal surfaces and form a long-lasting solid lubricant film that will withstand pressures up to 500,000 pounds per square inch! Sometimes in very extreme situations, copper and graphite are also added. This will also reduce the temperature at the point of impact, which helps to lengthen the overall lifespan of the machinery in question.
Premium greases (like Schaeffer) should also protect against rust, corrosion, and oxidation, preventing your equipment's premature aging. The protection against water and water washout with the ability to stay where you put it is another consideration.
In areas with cold winters, low-temperature pumpability is a critical consideration. Greases that turn solid and don’t pump on cold mornings can make maintaining greasing intervals challenging.
Most premium greases are good protection in some but not all situations, so it is essential to weigh the pluses and minuses and decide what your best choice is. Grease is not a one-size-fits-all product. That’s why Schaeffer has 19 different products in multiple NLGI weights.
Characteristics of High-Quality Grease
Characteristics to look for in a premium grease are:
- Pumpability characteristics.
- Resistance to water washout and water spray off.
- Shear and mechanical stability.
- Anti-wear and extreme pressure load-carrying abilities.
- 100% reversibility. Rust and oxidation protection.
- Resistance to oxidation.
- High dropping point.
- Low-temperature pumpability.
- Resistance to bleeding.
- High or extreme temperature protection.
Can your grease do this? Schaeffer greases can provide solutions (at a fair price) to your challenges. Shop now at Buy1Oils for the best selection of all Schaeffer's products.
